Proposed community meetings to inform ratepayers about the nuts and bolts of the Healthy Reef Partnership with Qantas, GreenCollar, and Tourism Port Douglas Daintree have been put on the back burner with no indication of where and when they will be held.
The only Councillor to vote against it at the time was Michael Kerr.
The decision by Councillors to vote in the deal back in June saw rate payer backlash and even a petition organised by Russell O’Doherty titled 'Stop the Douglas Shire Council from purchasing unwanted carbon credits' was presented to Council.
