A petition opposing Douglas Shire Council’s Healthy Reef Partnership with Qantas Future Planet, GreenCollar, and Tourism Port Douglas Daintree (TPDD, has been brushed aside at yesterdays open session in Council Chambers

 

The petition – “Stop the Douglas Shire Council from purchasing unwanted Carbon Credits” was instigated by Russell O’Doherty, who is president of Daintree Renewable Energy Inc and it had almost 800 signatures

 

 

Cr Roy Zammataro voted against it saying he was not comfortable endorsing the petition, which questions his credibility and to endorse it would mean Council was wrong which it isn't.

 

Russell O’Doherty spoke to Paul about the knock back of the petition.
