FAB FM's Paul Makin has been following the independent probity audit examining the three-year process for the 'Daintree River Ferry Service Contract'. It has now been released to the public with some redacting. But Tuesdays special meeting of Council saw two Councillors criticize the report. Paul now his say as he looks closely at this meeting and what the report means for us and Council itself. At least one person has had his reputation restored after a social media hammering and rightfully so. https://douglas.qld.gov.au/daintree-river-ferry-service-probity-audit-released-to-the-public/

A searching probity report into the purchase of the Daintree River Ferry and it's contract negotiations has been ratified by Council. At a Special Meeting in Council Chambers in Mossman, Mayor Michael Kerr, Deputy Mayor Cr Lisa Scomazzon and Cr Peter McKeown voted to have it prepared for public scrutiny. Cr Abigail Noli and Cr Roy Zammataro voted NO. A bit of a head scratcher there because Cr Noli has questioned the lack of consultation and transparency on the matter in the past. Surely releasing the report to the public is about as transparent as you can get. https://douglas.qld.gov.au/

Country singer songwriter and damn good bloke Adam Harvey chat's to FAB FM's Paul Makin about his brand new album 'Songs From Highway One' and the beautiful and emotional song he wrote about his late father Les, who died of cancer. It took a lot to pen something as personal as this, but the result is a touching tribute to a man who loved the beautiful Whitsundays. Adam admits he couldn't do it on his own so he asked for help from Queensland's foremost balladeer and together they re-traced his Dad's footsteps and even went aboard the same boat Les used to work on. This is a once in a lifetime chat with one of Australia's truly great entertainers. BUT a warning, take a tissue to this interview. https://adamharvey.com.au/
