Australia's Golden Guitar nominated Jason Lee has released ‘Whiskey Kinda Night’, his newest single off his forthcoming album set for release in 2021. ‘Whiskey Kinda Night’ follows the success of his previous single, ‘She’s In It’, which charted high on The Music Network Country Hot 50 airplay. Jason's influences stem from the likes of Merle Haggard, Slim Dusty, George Jones through to Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban and Jason Aldean, but there's no mistaking his own unique country sound. A new newspaper wants to open in the Douglas Shire and while 4 Douglas Shire Councillors are happy for that to happen in the future, they today joined forces to scuttle an up front money proposal by voting an emphatic No! The commercial Newspaper from Cape York wanted $10,000 of Ratepayers money to set up a local office. While Mayor Michael Kerr wanted it to go through, he was the lone hand to go up. There were other things on the agenda including a playgrounds upgrade and the Council is building a bridge, or at least making them safer and nicer. 'The Splash Park' is getting closer to becoming a reality. A HUGE success, in fact a full house at the Mayors very first Charity Christmas Lunch. It was held at Salsa Port Douglas with a 4 Course lunch, entertainment and a raffle which raised thousands of dollars for the Mayors Christmas Appeal. Hampers and help will now be able to go to so many families in the Douglas Shire because of the lunch and the kind support of locals.
