Mayor Michael has told FAB FM’s Paul Makin that Douglas Shire Council staff are working on a policy to tackle the long running Quad Bike situation at Wonga. The Mayor, once again, is critical of the date the Iron Man Event has chosen in September but hasn't given up on having it changed to help local businesses that will suffer further because of the disruption it will cause. It was controversial at the time but now it's to be sold by Council and the $700,000 plus returned to Ratepayers. The block of land in the Daintree that was purchased by the previous Council with no public consulation is to be taken off the DSC's books. A 3 to 2 vote saw a 'Win Win' solution according to Mayor Michael Kerr. PLUS the Daintree Water Bottling Facility finally gets the green light. One of the most deplorable things in our community is bullying. NT country star Tom Curtain is using music to fight back. Schools, work places, wherever it it we should not tolerate it.
