'Local Heroes' of The Douglas Shire were acknowledged today. 7 Awards to 7 amazing people who have made a difference in the community. From sport to the environment from arts to volunteers, it was all there on display. A standing room only crowd gave all the winners a big reception. FAB FM's Paul Makin hosts this podcast and tells the stories of the people who came up trumps on Australia Day 2020 including the Citizen Of The Year.

Seems we have a new Sheriff in town. It's official and you are hearing it first on Tourist Radio FAB FM's Podcast. The Douglas Shire Ratepayers Association is finally here and they say they want to be an advocate for the payers of rates in this Shire who up until now have had no real voice when it comes to the Councils decisions. The new Douglas Shire Ratepayers Association want to change that. Sylvia Healy is President of the DSRA and she told our Paul Makin that the ratepayer landscape is about to change in a big way.

Dinosaur racing on New Years Day 2020 at Myall Beach Cape Tribulation. It was for a very worthy cause, the local Fire Brigade. Paul caught up with tourists and competitors. The perpetual trophy went to 'Trailblazers QLD. Well done guys!
