Barry Lea the President of the club asked the iconic singer and writer of 'Up There Cazaly' to join the fold for 2020. Mike was thrilled to say yes. He's now looking forward to getting back to FNQ in his new role. His latest song, a cover is the old Eric Burdon song 'When I Was Young. What a pleasure it was to catch up with living legend Mike Brady while he is holidaying in FNQ. Unless you've been on the Moon you would have heard Mike's classic song 'Up There Cazaly' some time in September during it's 40 years of existence. Mike is kept busy singing the iconic song every year during AFL Grand Final time. No wonder he needed some R&R in the sun with his great mate Keith (far right)

Public meeting at Heritage Lodge Daintree to Discuss Hydrogen Grid

Last nights public meeting held at Heritage Lodge in the Daintree discussed and explained the proposed Hydrogen Micro Grid. It was was a big success and although it got a bit fiery at times it was mostly respectful and everyone in attendance got their thoughts across. It was fronted by Daintree Renewable Energy Pty Ltd spokesperson Russell O’Doherty, Federal MP Warren Entsch and Richard Schoenemann. Richard is the man who will carry out the last feasibility study on the project before it's shovel ready. The Feds through Warren Entsch have come up with almost a million dollars to carry out the study which is expected to conclude in July 2020. Also in the crowd listening intently was Douglas Shire Mayor Julia Leu and Councillor Michael Kerr.
