John Morris and his family have decided to bequeath the Bally Hooley trains to one of the Douglas Shires largest and respected not for profit clubs, the Combined Club (THE TIN SHED) John Morris approached the club and it's manager Kym Rowley and suggested the idea. The clubs management committee considered it and unanimously voted in favour of it. Four locomotives,NELSON, BUNDY, SPEEDY and the MOWBRAY, the carriages ,the Bally Hooley Depot and workshop. As part of the handover and to assist with running costs the club will also take over the popular Choo Choos cafe at the marina.

Mayor Julia Leu chats with Paul about all things Douglas Shire including the Flagstaff Hill walking trail that FAB FM has discovered has one section where it's very easy to come a cropper. We suggest hand rails might make a huge difference. We also think signage can help visitors stay on the path and not wander off onto Island Point Road or Murphy Street. The Mayor has listened and will look at the situation and report back to listeners. We also talk about a proposed bed levy tax that Cairns Mayor Bob Manning is pushing for. Surely we can't burden our visitors with any more costs?

Wes Glass has been appointed as Senior Coach for the Cairns Saints. Wes has a distinguished football career with 16 years at Willunga Football Club where he won 6 Premierships in a row. During this time he also played 3 years at South Adelaide in the SANFL. Moving to Port Douglas in 2015 with his wife Tess and their 2 children, he has been Assistant Coach/Player and part of winning the last 4 Premierships for the club. Wes is an ornament to the game and brings a wealth of football knowledge to the Saints, He says he can't wait for the first clash between the Crocs and the Saints. We wish him luck when he plays other teams apart from the Crocs.

The Salsa Sorensen Association which raises money for not for profit organizations in the Douglas Shire has formerly presented $22,600 to 5 worthy recipients. All have a chat with Paul about their windfall. The money is raised at the Brian Sorensen Golf Day which is an annual event.
