The CWA Hall at Mossman was the scene of the latest ‘Think Tank’ which is designed to showcase different ideas to make the Douglas Shire better for everyone. Speakers were Mossman High School student and environmental advocate Caitlin Nulty, Douglas Shire Sustainability Group member and former Douglas Shire Mayor, Mike Berwick and Douglas Shire CEO Mark Stoermer who outlined 3 plans, one for Port Douglas another for Mossman between now and 2025 and a 30 year plan for the Daintree. Martin Phillpot a resident north of the river also asks a question and puts his thoughts forward on the plan.

Organised by Dr Alex Bernhardi, speakers were Mossman High School student and environmental advocate Caitlin Nulty, Douglas Shire CEO Mark Stoermer and Douglas Shire Sustainability Group member and former Mayor Mike Berwick who outlined his groups 30 year plan for the Daintree but he doesn't want it to include the Solar Hydrogen Electricity Grid. A reply to that is by Daintree Renewable Energy Inc president Russell O'Doherty who was an audience member.

Lisa Scomazzon, owner of Newell Beach Takeaway is not happy with Council over a community tap in a park at the beach that's used by boaties and tourists to wash down vehicles and camping gear. Lisa says while all of us have to abide by level one water restrictions water at this tap is free and flowing.
