The Seafood Industry Australia the national peak body for the Australian seafood industry, is encouraging everyone in the Douglas Shire and visitors to our region to eat more seafood on a regular basis for good health, following the Heart Foundation announcing seafood as one of the healthiest proteins available. The Heart Foundation has refined its position on a number of food types but seafood continues to be one of the healthiest sources of protein. While supermarkets and stores are under law to reveal the source of the seafood, restaurants aren’t and measures are being pursued by the seafood industry to change that. Paul spoke with the CEO of Seafood Industry Australia Jane Lovell about why eating local seafood is good for your heath and your regions economy.
