Paul chats with Russell O’Doherty the President of Daintree Renewable Energy Inc.
The Douglas Shire Council has been presented with a petition from DRE opposing its Healthy Reef Partnership with Qantas Future Planet, GreenCollar and Tourism Port Douglas Daintree (TPDD).
The petition attracted more than 680 signatories.
In opposing the partnership, Mr O’Doherty launched the petition titled “Stop the Douglas Shire Council from purchasing unwanted Carbon Credits”.

Paul again chats to local businessman and former marketing and advertising man Chris Beckwith about the Douglas Shire Councils carbon neutral deal with Qantas and Green Collar.
Chris investigated how much publicity our Shire will get through this deal by contacting our national carrier and discovered the answer was zip!
He's further investigated the way the Council handled and voted on the deal and says they put the cart before the horse.
