When Adam Harvey suggested to his friend Beccy Cole that cutting a new album together could be the best medicine, Beccy jumped right in and naturally a tour had to come out of it. The Great Country Songbook Volume 3 comes out Sept 9th and that National tour will start on the same day. Adam Harvey is now a country music legend. Gold and Platinum albums, 9 x Golden Guitar awards and a CMA Global Country Artist award and a recent #1 ARIA album, 'Songs from Highway One' took home the gong for Traditional Country Album of The Year at the 2022 Golden Guitar awards. FAB FM's Paul Makin had a chat with Adam on his Makin and Eggs Brekky Show and he shocked our man when he gave the reason for not coming to Cairns with the tour. ***FAB FM does not play songs in their entirety in Podcasts. The songs are available for purchase from the artists website or legal music websites*** https://www.adamharvey.com.au/

Slim Dusty is the undisputed 'King' of country with albums still in the Aria charts 19 years after his death. Tomorrow morning the 30th January at 8.30am on 7Two the documentary show Travel Oz is profiling this unique performer. FAB FM's Paul Makin chats with Slims daughter Anne Kirkpatrick and the host of Travel Oz Greg Grainger about the man and his music and how both took a sentimental journey during the filming. https://www.traveloztv.com/

The curtain has gone down on the recent smash hit run of Priscilla Queen of The Desert at the Clink theatre. The 'SOLD OUT' musical and success is still reverberating among audiences. In fact, this production by the Douglas Theatre Arts Group has tongues wagging for all the right reasons. Word of mouth ran rampant. Musical Director Alteouise DeVaughn, who has some 40 years’ experience in theatre, has her theories on why Priscilla hit the mark. She sat down to chat with FAB FM's Paul Makin (who played Bob the mechanic in the show) to give her thoughts. Plus she talks about her own choirs recent success and the brand new show she's involved in that's coming to the Clink in May.

Thank the good Lord Mike Kuster has finally started to do what he should have done more than twenty years ago. Make great country music. He'll tell you of course that it was all worth it because he married a real 'darlin' and raised three fine kids in that time BUT us country fans were robbed of his presence in the genre. This man has a real contribution to make in good 'traditional' country music, which in some circles is a dirty word these days but Mike doesn't care and neither do we. Keep penning great tunes and recording songs Mike, we'll take all you've got. FAB FM's Paul Makin spoke to Mike all the way from Maryland in the United States to find out about his latest album aptly called 'Better Late Than Never' and see if he had a good excuse for being M.I.A for so long https://mikekuster.net/

Australian expats Alice Beatty (writer, vocalist) and Cameron Potts (writer, vocalist, guitarist) met in 2016 in New York City. Then they ran into each other again less than a year later at Mickey’s Tavern in Nashville, where they had both relocated separately to the same neighbourhood. Do you think the Universe was trying to tell them something? Well the stars did align and now they are a couple making beautiful music together and we are the beneficiaries of that pairing. FAB FM's Paul Makin spoke to Alice and Cameron to find out the latest on their amazing journey in country music. https://thewinnieblues.com/

FAB FM's Paul Makin says 3 Councillors, including the Deputy Mayor got it wrong by voting against an RV Park in Mossman. Paul's 'Editorial' brings together the man who brought it to Council to be considered Cr Peter McKeown, CMCA CEO, Richard Barwick, Cr Lisa Scomazzon (Deputy Mayor) Mayor Michael Kerr and a mystery guest who popped up at the last minute supporting the 'No RV Park' Councillors.

Todays meeting of Council saw a disappointing result for Cr Peter McKeown who put forward a motion to get an RV Park established in the Shire. He was supported by the Mayor but torpedoed by the other three councillors including the Deputy Mayor Cr Lisa Scomazzon. Despite no cost to Ratepayers and an income for Council it was defeated. It's obvious that Recreational Vehicles are simply not welcome here in the Douglas Shire and Peter McKeown was trying to address that and the massive dollars it would bring in IF it became a reality. But NO, once again the Shire remains closed to progressive ideas. FAB FM's Paul Makin chats to Peter and to Mayor Michael Kerr about this and other matters on the agenda at todays meeting. https://douglas.qld.gov.au/
